Arts and Heritage
– Portico of Ards
This aerial video production was commissioned by Portico of Ards to create a moving record and promotional vehicle for this historic and uniquely styled arts and heritage centre located in Portaferry, Northern Ireland.
Introducing Portico’s location, the view begins as we circle nearby Windmill Hill tower, to show the area’s proximity to the waters of the Ards Peninsula.
Moving forwards and past the tower, we fly towards the centre of the town of Portaferry before arriving at the dynamic exterior of the brightly painted Portico of Ards building.
After circling the Portico building we move forward to towards the large windows within the building’s exterior frontage, before moving seamlessly through the closed windows and inside.
Positioned just inside the widow we moved towards outside, the drone camera (UAV) flies forward and down, presenting the building’s church like interior, before coming to rest on a grand piano located front and centre in the building’s auditorium.
We then cut to the beat of the backing track and move vertically over a stained glass window in front of organ pipes before moving through the window and outside again for a reveal shot showing Portico of Ards nestled within the sleepy town of Portaferry, and ending with the client’s branding and web site call to action.

Moving forward and down, we are presented with a straight on shot before moving in the same direction while pointing at the left side of the building’s interior, before the camera tilts down and arrives on the grand piano in the main auditorium.
After moving through the interior of the Portico of Ards building, the drone video production presents us with a elaborately decorate stained glass window fronting enormous organ pipes as we move up and admire the craftsmanship of it before moving outside again through this multicoloured window.
