ABOUT – commercial photographer and video producer / director working out of Dublin and Belfast Ireland and London, UK
Experienced photographing national advertising campaigns and annual report projects, for clients including BBDO, JWT, Coca Cola, Primerica, UPS, Randstad and Dunlop Sports, and director of photography for BBC Worldwide.
With an innate ability to put anyone at ease, Stephen is good with people.
Having first become interested in photography when he saw his first SLR sitting on a desk at his college library, Stephen began his photography career as a medical photographer. After sticking that for 5 months he moved on to become a photojournalist at Pacemaker, a small photo agency in Belfast, Northern Ireland, during The Troubles in the early 80’s. During his three year tenure Stephen won NI News Photographer of the Year two years back to back, when his work was on the covers of every national newspaper in the UK, Europe and US.
After running his editorial and PR photography studio in Belfast, and having won a Green Card in a U.S. government lottery (whose lifespan was quickly running out), Stephen moved with his family to Atlanta, where his career as an advertising photographer quickly took off (his Irish accent opening many a door!).
Returning home to Ireland Stephen now works from Dublin, Belfast and London.
