Actor Edward Norton gives acting and directing masterclass at IFTA and Screen Ireland run event at Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin, Ireland

Wonderful discussion by the legendary American actor, Edward Norton, with moderator Donald Clarke, on the actor and activist’s experience acting and directing, at Dublin’s premier arthouse cinema.

Including stories reminisced about his acting experiences with Marlon Brando and Richard Gere, among others, and how he directed Robert De Niro, this humble individual with a lightning fast intellect kept members of Ireland‘s primary movie industry organisation riveted to their seats.

It was a pleasure to be in the audience at Edward Norton’s wonderfully entertaining, enlightening and  insightful talk on his life as one of the world’s most popular and talented actors and directors.

Hearing Edward tell stories about performing for and working with American History X director Tony Kaye. How he got into acting and the speed from being recognised until his acting talents were seen across the world in film masterpieces including, American History X, Fight Club, Birdman, many of the movies by Wes Anderson, including Moonrise Kingdom, acting as Peter Seeger in the  upcoming Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, and his experiences writing, directing and starring in the period feature film drama Motherless Brooklyn, were things I will cherish and remember with gratitude for a long time.
